When starting your log railing project, Log Artistry needs a simple drawing of the area. Start by measuring the total length of each area that will be needing the log railing. Note what kind of post you will be needing (i.e. outside corner post, inline post, inside post, custom). If you already have existing post measure from inside one post to the inside of the next post. Note if they are square or round posts and the size of the post.
For stairways, start by measuring the top tread to the bottom tread diagonally. Also, measure the stair angle, this will help us calculate the number of spindles and post you will need. Note if you are doing railings on one side or two sides.
** Stair posts are not notched or drilled. This step must be done onsite for proper alignment.
** Rails do not have tenon ends or are not drilled out for spindles. This step must be done onsite for proper alignment.
